Brenda has a combined Bachelor of Medical Science (Hons), Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from the University of Technology, Sydney, and Master of Public Health from the University of Sydney. She is currently coordinating a project investigating disease transmission in solid organ donation, to provide better estimates of risk that could be used in clinical decisions for organ donation.
Brenda has experience in clinical trial co-ordination in chronic disease, both in cancer research at Imperial College London, and kidney disease working with the Centre for Kidney Research. She also previously worked as a scientist in the NSW Transplantation and Immunology Services, assessing compatibility between solid organ and bone marrow donor and recipients. Her research interests include cancer and transplant immunology, competing risk in organ donation, and communication of risk to patients, clinicians and policy makers.
Outside of work Brenda loves to travel, and enjoy good food and good wine with good friends.
